Traditional Flavor Profiles

Banka Dark

This is the Dark roast interpretation of a dry/natural process coffee from the Banka farm in the Menglian region of Yunnan China on the border of Myanmar. This is yet another great small lot producer of specialty coffee in Yunnan. Banka is located at 1250 masl and uses well developed processing methods such as cherry color sorting and growing tunnels to protect from rainfall. In 2018 Lucia Solis supervised some experimental controlled fermentation here using ORO yeast. The coffee cherries are harvested by the Lahu tribal peoples that live nearby and work the coffee shrubs around Banka Village. Flavor notes for this darker version of this natural smokey cacao nibs, current berries, citrus orange peel with a good body. Type: Single Origin | Country: China | Region: Menglian Yunnan | Farm: Banka | Elevation: 1250+ MASL | Species: Arabica | Varietal: Catimor | Process: Natural | Roast: Dark | Tasting Notes: Smokey cacoa nibs, current berries, orange peel, large body
